Case Studies
Mazon Associates has been in the factoring business for over 30 years, and our experience with many business issues make us the perfect resource for your financial needs that fit within our scope of services. The following summarizes ways in which Mazon Associates works with various types of businesses and issues which may arise in the course of daily business activities:
Company Issue:
Juliann manufactures western and collegiate apparel for many small boutiques and now has a large purchase order for a major retail chain. She currently has a small line of credit with her bank and they currently have all of her assets secured for this line of credit and they are not able to give her more money for this new order. She has a great apparel manufacturing business, and would like to continue to grow and take advantage of this opportunity.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon was able to subordinate the accounts receivables from the bank's loan and pay the bank their monthly loan payment from Juliann's accounts receivable. She was able to fulfill the purchase order and also have credit, collection and payment application services provided by Mazon so Juliann can continue to grow her business. This is one way that many businesses are able to use factoring to assist them with their growth.
Company Issue:
Thomas and Sarah have both recently been laid off from their full-time employment with a large telecommunications corporation and they have started their own telecommunications consulting business. They will get the majority of their business from their previous employer who will outsource their smaller jobs to them on a monthly contract basis.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon was able to apply for credit insurance for their one, large customer since the company had strong credit information. Now, Thomas and Sarah can factor their accounts receivable to help them meet payroll and their personal expenses. In addition, they can grow and expand their customer base with Mazon's services.
Company Issue:
David and Doug have been excellent sales reps for a large supplier of natural gas products for a number of years. Several of their very best customers were not happy with the company policies of the supplier and they have been encouraging David and Doug to start their own business. After much preparation, David and Doug started his own supply company and needed immediate cash flow for their business.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon began working with David and Doug from the very beginning of their business in January of this year and in six month's time their average sales are $500,000 each month. Mazon has been assisting them with credit on new customers and encouraging them to spread their risk among many customers. In addition, Mazon has also provided credit insurance where it was needed along with the needed office assistance.
Company Issue:
Sonny has always worked as an employee truck driver for a national trucking company. Long periods of time away from his wife and children, and his wife's recent diagnosis of breast cancer, have been the dominating factors in his decision to start his own local hot-shot delivery service.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon was able to help Sonny with his start-up business to provide the needed cash flow to grow his business. Also, Mazon provides the backroom office assistance for the many invoices so that Sonny can spend more time with his wife.
Company Issue:
The Barnett Shale (see our August 2008 issue of Building Bridges newsletter) has brought many new clients to Mazon Associates. One such client, Alex, has been with Mazon for some time and has recently changed the focus of his business from general dump-truck hauling to hauling mud from drilling sites to farms needing this high-grade mud to level acreage.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon has provided the assistance to encourage Alex to move his business focus from a very competitive business to an up and coming industry so he can work smarter not harder. Alex's blood pressure is doing much better and he is spending more time with his family and less time with his business. He is also making more money with less of the headaches.
Company Issue:
Interior decorators, upscale hotels and home builders rely heavily on Jan and James to keep up with furniture and decor for their many ongoing projects. Their business provides moving, storage, relocating and installation services for these decorators, hotels and home builders so they can keep up with all of the items needed to make them look good.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon has been able to help Jan and James grow their business from a very small business to a thriving business with our cash flow for their business and also providing the needed collection services. Often, their customers would like to pay by credit card and Mazon also handles that needed service.
Company Issue:
Jenny and Jeb purchased a label manufacturing company and soon realized the previous owner had not paid his taxes and they were faced with an IRS tax lien. They also discovered the company was not making a profit and they were not able to get a loan from their local bank.
Mazon's Solution:
Mazon was able to request a subordination of the tax lien from the IRS and begin factoring their accounts receivables and also help them with the additional services so they had the time to find customers that had a higher profit margin for their business. Today, Jenny and Jeb have a very successful company and have satisfied their obligations with the previous owner and the IRS.
